When we contemplate buying gifts to give, we generally want them to be good gifts and fitted to the needs and desires of the person we are trying to honor. It is the same with God. God knows how to give good gifts, perfect gifts, to His children. James describes this about God in James 1:17. Consider some of those gifts for a moment.
He gave us the perfect gift of love in sending Jesus to give us a means of forgiveness, remission of sins, and perfect motivation to repent of sins. Jesus died on the cross to win your heart through His great love.
Further, He sent the Holy Spirit to guide the apostles into “all truth,” giving us the perfectly preserved testimony of Jesus in the writings of the New Testament so we can have more than adequate testimony from God to us that produces and empowers our conviction.
He gave us perfect hope of eternal life based perfectly on the fact of His resurrection so that we can know the surety of that life beyond. These are just a few of the good and perfect gifts that fit exactly what we need and desire. Rejoice in these great gifts! Marvel at them! Let them fill you with the joy and excitement they intended. The Father wants us to have them and enjoy them to the fullest!
